The Emperor Arrives

This picture was actually not taken while I was enrolled in the photo class, but rather just before it. I went to Antartica this past December and ran into an Emperor Penguin in the Weddell Sea. So many have commented on this image that I would be remiss if I did not include it. Enjoy!

David,
This image is quite stunning. The composition, the vantage point and the light work all together very well. I have noticed the other images you posted – Union Station, Peace and quiet in a garden, Vegas in gold – have potential but composition is too centered. The biggest reason the penguin image works is the composition that the penguin is not in the center of the frame so that viewers’ eye can travel around well through the entire frame well.
One more thing: I put the same comment to Robert about the Photoshop’s sample image. I know you used the door image as an opening but you should make sure to mention (where it is coming from) that this is not your image and just using it as an opening of the site because it can violate copyright.
